The department  for Interface Design offers a PhD research position on the topic of advanced spectroscopic characterization of halide perovskite materials and their interfaces in photovoltaic devices.
 They are looking for a highly motivated and curious scientist holding a MSc degree in physics, (physical) chemistry, or material science.

  •  Knowledge in the operation of ultrahigh vacuum equipment and using X-ray spectroscopies is mandatory.
  • Background in photovoltaic materials research is appreciated but not required (enthusiasm for such topics is strongly recommended!).
  • An independent communication and collaboration with project partners to organize sample exchange and measurement campaigns.
  • Excellent English communication skills are necessary.
  • Additional German skills are advantageous.
  • High level of intercultural competence and ability to work in a team is necessary

The International Summit on Organic and Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cell Stability (ISOS) has been an important forum for the ongoing discussion on topics of stability of organic and hybrid perovskite solar cells since 2008. It has resulted in impactful outcomes such as the ISOS protocols for the ageing of third generation solar cells. And is driven by a worldwide community of research experts on the topic of stability of such solar cells.

The EU PVSEC is the largest international Conference for Photovoltaic research, technologies and applications and at the same time a PV Industry Exhibition, where specialized PV Industry presents technologies, innovations and new concepts in the upstream PV sector. It gathers the global PV community to present and discuss the latest developments in Photovoltaics, to network and to conduct business. It is the world-renowned science-to-science and science-to-industry platform uniquely focused on the global PV Solar sector. The conference scientific programme is coordinated by the European Commission Joint Research Centre.

PVSPACE-24 aims to bring together experts and visionaries in the field of space energy and photovoltaics to explore cutting-edge developments, share insights, and shape the future of space technology. The conference will delve into topics such as photovoltaic for space, Halide Perovskite Solar Cells, Advanced Materials for Space Energy Systems, Space Environment tests,  space economy, radiation and photodetector, wearable electronics, Wireless Power Transmission and much more. This year we will have a special section related to the detector and Scintillator materials and devices.

Solar TAP is a Helmholtz initiative with the goal to accelerate the deployment of multi-benefit photovoltaics based on emerging printed PV-Technologies like organic photovoltaics and perovskites. Solar TAP wants to make existing surface areas in agriculture, construction and transportation usable for the expansion of solar energy through the use of printed solar cells.  Together with a network of industrial partners, Solar TAP is further developing the necessary technologies and transferring the results along the entire value chain „lab-to-fab“ in order to quickly make these new PV solutions market-ready and accelerate the commercial use of the technologies.

We are excited to announce the launch of the European Solar Academy, mandated by the European Commission as part of its Net-Zero Academies. Managed by InnoEnergy Skills Institute, the Academy aims to reskill and upskill 65,000 workers across the European solar photovoltaic (PV) value chain within its first two years.


Jul, 01st 2024 [Project Update]

After the first eleven successful calls and more than 134 submitted projects widely granted to access, VIPERLAB project launches its final and last one 12th call to submit projects to free access in top-ranked European Research Perovskite Infrastructures. Submit as soon as possible your project to access. Open call - 1st July, 2024 (closing at August 31st, 2024 23.59.59 CES)  Applicants will be notified of review outcomes in September 2024.
