Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is searching for a highly motivated postdocs in the field of highly efficient, innovative tandem solar cells to optimise the use of photovoltaics. At two of their institutes, they offer postdoc positions for the development, optimisation and upscaling of perovskite-based tandem solar cells on flexible and rigid substrates as part of the collaborative projects SolMates, SolarTap and Zeitenwende.

The offered PhD position focusses on the study of long term operational behavior of PSC modules and module failure tests through a number of material characterization techniques (spectroscopic, imaging, ) combined with imaging techniques damp heat and thermal cycling to gain insight in the material properties and potential loss mechanisms and it will extend to comparison with outdoor testing to establish the correlation accelerated/outdoor tests.

Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is searching for a highly motivated postdoc in the field of photoelectron spectroscopy and related analytical methods to conduct research on materials for cutting edge perovskite and tandem solar cells. The selected candidate will contribute to setting up a unique variant of UV photoelectron spectroscopy. He/she will then utilize this and other, already available tools to elucidate valence band and defect state densities of perovskite-relevant materials and interfaces, determine band offsets at heterojunctions with unprecedented precision, and much more for the understanding of the electronic properties of state-of-the-art perovskites
