Postdoc (f/m/d) for Perovskite-Based Tandem Solar cells

Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is a research center for fundamental and applied research in the field of energy materials. 
HZB is conducting research on highly efficient, innovative tandem solar cells to optimise the use of photovoltaics. 

At two of their institutes, PVcomB, the HZB's technology transfer unit for PV. and HZB's department on perovskite solar cells they offer postdoc positions for the development, optimisation and upscaling of perovskite-based tandem solar cells on flexible and rigid substrates as part of the collaborative projects SolMates, SolarTap and Zeitenwende

 

Your Tasks

  • You develop coating processes for perovskite top cells on conventional solar cells using thermal co-evaporation and printing techniques such as inkjet printing and slot die coating.
  • You optimise a recombination contact based on metal oxides and organic hole conductors and integration in tandem solar cells.
  • You characterise single junction and tandem cells and their components
  • You write project reports and scientific publications.
  • You participate in project management tasks.

Your Profile

  • Doctoral degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related fields
  • Very good expertise in the field of perovskite solar cell fabrication, especially by thermal co-evaporation and by printing techniques
  • In-depth expertise in materials science
  • In-depth expertise in semiconductor physics
  • Good knowledge in the field of data processing

Fixed term contract for 36 months.
The salary is based on the Collective Agreement for the German Public Service (TVöD-Bund).
